Last day of Spring Festival - Lantern Festival Night
Explosions over Shunyi Road tonight. For weeks it never stopped. Nothing mild about these celebrations. The vibrations set off car alarms and turn on your sound activated lights. Handy.
The "French" Quarter of Putuo - Wuning Road Carrefour

In the cour of le Louvre you can find two playful pandas. The Chinese trompe l'oeil artist making a statement?
This is the district of Shanghai where I live - Putuo. Here is the recently completed Wuning Road bridge renovation with its French inspired columns. Carrefour on the right. I go there when it's not so busy - late at night ... But there's never a good time to go as it's always crowded. A pleasure though is to go to Yong He Wang (similar to Yonghe Doujiang restaurants) and have their soy milk - "ri de - tian de"! Hot and sweet. You can watch people have their photos taken in front of the trompe l'oeil - after they have bought a couple of baguettes.
The apartments on the opposite side, overlooking the Suzhou Creek, are called Seine views.
